We can use this thread to post subject info and updates for various brokerages and other investment accounts issuing tax forms. If others see a MFO thread on the subject, please post it on this thread - they usually have this sort of stuff well organized. We can still use this thread to provide updates we discover that MFO thread misses and anything else related to the subject. To kick off, I am copying the two posts by Capital so far. "Fidelity
For those of you with Fidelity Accounts the individualized "Expected Forms" page is available with dates you can "expect" to receive the various forms. Vangaurdinvestor.vanguard.com/taxes/tax-forms/ "

Usual caution is that funds/brokerages rush to send 1st batches of 1099s in January to meet the law but may issue corrected 1099s in February. Of course, K-1s don't arrive until March [some even in April] - I am now free of K-1s and won't knowingly buy anything that generates K-1.

Could you please elaborate and educate us (or share with us your experience) on the perils of receiving K-1s? 1. Cannot file early as K-1s come in March/April. 2. Several additional forms are required in tax filings to take care of K-1s. 3. Related info in brokerage 1099 is incomplete, even wrong. Only sales dates and proceeds may be correct. So, one has to look at both the brokerage 1099 and K-1 to extract tax filing info.

I don't do anything until March because you may get 2-3 1099(they get corrected). I file in mid March which is still one month prior to deadline. See you in 2 months.
