What is the best place to look for total YTD returns?
I plugged in SCHD into Yahoo Finance, Morningstar, and a site called Financial Times, and I get three different numbers.

Pay attention to the date.
M* has the most comprehensive data for YTD (and other timeframes).
SCHD Day End (default) -2.34% Month End -7.47% Quarter End -3.80%
These are price TRs. NAV TRs are also provided. The difference is negligible for ETFs, but is substantial for CEFs.

Chahta, I have fixed the post. Those were YTD for Day End (11/29/23), Month End (10/31/23), Quarter End (9/30/23).

Chahta , I have fixed the post. Those were YTD for Day End (11/29/23), Month End (10/31/23), Quarter End (9/30/23). What periods do the 3 choices cover? Day End is up to the current day, Month end is up to the current full month and Quarter End is up to the current full quarter? I never fully understood the periods. Thanks.

Yes, up to the most recent full day, month, quarter. Many others who use M* data often skip the date info.
