Capital , how goes it? If any seasoned income investor didn’t recognize huge bargains were available since 2020……. The problem with amateurs is they don’t recognize how really bad cash is as an “investment”. www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/historical-inflation-rates/ Check out the last 5 years. If one isn’t producing income above those #’s and spending down you’re compounding backwards. Look at the 70’s, that’s why I do what I do. Check succeeding years. Pretty good coverage for the last 20+ years for all U.S. inflation with minimal investment. I went right to the top of the bell curve in that article. Why guess? Cover it all and cover all U.S. equities with VTI.

steelpony10 , it goes well. Sounds the same with you; and, I hope you and yours stay well as possible. I've been reestablishing the bond portion of my portfolio. I'm not selling my equity positions just using new money, dividends and interest to do so. I've gone from a 93% equity position at about Q2-2022 to close to a 83% equity position today. That should decrease again in 12/2023. I'm expecting a boatload of dividends in December so I will probably be buying some bonds near year end. I'm just now starting to look at the mid-range and longer duration/maturity side of the interest rate curve. I'm starting to think the FED may be done and we may see a cut in Q4-2024. Lately the longer end of the curve seems to be trying to increase by rotating upward around the lower end of the curve. Well that's about all this thinking and typing I can do for a Sunday. Back to sitting or sleeping in my easy chair. Have a great day - Capital

Capital , I don’t know how I ever got on a the other side of the investing world but I know I crossed over in the early 00’s. It’s all play time here, little work and I read every day for pleasure only. For my wife all I basically do is add to VTI now on rainy days. Thanks for the link.
