M* has made quite a changes to its website. First they almost removed or hide its discussion forums. I can access to Portfolio within M* desktop/regular website but at Morningstar Mobile (I have not tried M* app) I just could not find Protfolio Tab. Does anyone know if portfolio function exists at M* mobile and how to access those?

I do access M* via mobile and I assume that www.morningstar.com defaults to its mobile version - although I don't see clicks for mobile vs web version (as at other sites). If you scroll way down on the Menu (4-bars), there "Just for Investors" at the bottom that shows Morningstar Investor" (new) and "Legacy Portfolio Manager" (old). I do remember that Portfolio tab used to be much higher.

Thanks
I am able to log in and access portfolio by clicking at Legacy Portfolio Manager. There is new Morningstar Investor just take to set up new paid subscription.
I am not sure why M* think their research is so good and now they deserve only paid membership and much higher rates ($249/year now vs it used to be much cheaper (I forgot exact number). Most of their mutual fund ratings are kind of useless as it is rear view investing and stock research did not bring much. Again that was many years ago and did not feel like subscribing since then.

I’m going to subscribe one more year to Morningstar, but then probably ditch the service as their quality has steadily declined, while price has escalated dramatically. Mainly continue it since we have a very large portfolio, and I want to keep tabs on it.

win1177, M* has promised to keep old M* Portfolio through 2023. Are you starting to use the new M* Investor? IMO, the new M* Investor is isn't there, so I am not spending much time with it. It is possible that you renew M* subscription for another year and M* Portfolio also goes away, and so do all your saved portfolios. As I have mentioned in the past, I have already moved on to Stock Rover (SR). That too has a steep learning curve.

Yogi, I subscribed to the “new” Morningstar investor, but overall I have not been too impressed. I still like the older version of the Morningstar Portfolio, and keep both open on my IPad, which I use to surf the internet. The new version is less user friendly, harder to change to suit my tastes, etc. The new M* Investor is going to auto renew in September for me, I’ll give it one more year but then probably cancel if they don’t improve it significantly. My main issue with switching to another platform is I hold a LOT of individual stocks, and have detailed information (shares, prices, buy/ sell dates, etc.) entered on the “old portfolio”. It will take a while to recreate all that on a new platform. The newer version is just NOT user friendly, and suggestions have been completely ignored. I have not tried Stock Rover, but may give it a try. Morningstar just seems to have declined in quality, raised prices, and tends to ignore retail investors. SAD! Win

win1177, there is a way to download stuff from old M* Portfolio and upload into Stock Rover (SR). It won't preserve the old transaction history, but you can keep it updated for transactions beyond the upload date. Of course, this need to be done BEFORE M* Portfolio goes away. Ask me if/when you are ready for SR.

I see Stock Rover has subscription levels:
Essential Premium Premium Plus
I do most of my work in Excel or Google Sheets. Takes time, but essentially free since my version of Excel is so old.
Curious what level of Stock Rover people have used and why not use Excel/Sheets?

Do you use it for your portfolio management?

Fearchar, Excel spreadsheets can work too. You may have to program some portfolio analytics to get info beyond basic transaction recordkeeping. steadyeddy, Stock Rover does provide portfolio level analytics that I find very useful (values, SD, beta, charting, historical returns, individual holding details, etc). As I don't use its broker-connection feature, I end up doing manual updates for transactions and reinvesting dividends (as would be needed with Excel spreadsheets too). PREMIUM subscription is required for any portfolio level details.

Thank-you yogibearbull , sam , Sorry for going off track with Stock Rover questions. Regarding your original post... Don't know about the M* app portfolio feature although I still use the desktop version. I was involved with the M* forum for many years, but as you have observed, it is now obscure and not a priority for M*. I was also a premium subscription member for years, but as I've settled down, have found that service to be more than needed. I still use their free services though. However, as I have already posted most of my portfolio work is in Excel. I use Google Sheets for on-line portfolio work. Still have a portfolio at M*. It's somewhat out of date, but their free portfolio does have features that I occasionally use.

Any reason you do not use broker-connect?
