Have been buying a lot of CD's lately and I have developed a habit of only buying call protected CD's. Am I doing the right thing or not? I am thinking it is not as important with short term two or three month CD's, but would like to hear from some experts. Thanks.

I think so as I won't buy a callable CD. They exist because they benefit the issuer. If it gets to the call date and you want to keep it, you can't and you are faced with reinvesting at an inferior rate. If you want it to be called because rates have gone up, it won't be and you are stuck with it. No win in my book.
