Does anyone ever look at these? Pimco has a spreadsheet you can download and play with and I did that with PDO recently for the most recent one dated 3/31/2023.
Some interesting (to me) information after using some Excel features and questions from a simpleton in regard to the numbers.
Is it unusual or a concern for a CEF to owe $3,462M more than the value of some of their investments?
If the average coupon rate for some of the largest portions of their holdings is 6.2% how do they pay 12% to an investor for an extended period of time?
I'm sure I'm missing something, as these are much more complicated than I can comprehend, and feel free to school me.
