I usually don't upgrade software if they don't force me to, especially not significant ones like Windows. If it ain't broken do nothing.

Microsoft keeps recommending me to Upgrade my Windows 10 to 11. Should I do it? I finally gave in and upgraded. Not much difference so far. Except the annoying Windows symbol ends up in the middle of the Taskbar. There is a setting to put it back on the left. Also every upgrade things get so blasted complicated. MS acts like each user is a tech wizard. Upgrades are really for the programmers to feel superior.

I upgraded, and it is mostly ok, but some issues HAVE cropped up (which may have been coincidental). ZOOM, in particular, has locked the system up hard a couple times; requiring a reboot. Not sure who is at fault there, but definitely annoying. On balance, waiting a bit isn't going to cost you anything.

chang, I have been getting the notifications to upgrade for at least a couple of years. Their notification designs are getting aggressive and tricky - definitely not designed for my benefit but to achieve what MSFT wants. Why does MSFT care if we upgrade or not? They can always force Windows 11 on all the new computers and just wait out for the existing computers to die / become outdated. What is up with them?

At some point they will stop supporting windows 10. You will get many "sky is falling warnings". I had a laptop for 10 years and they stopped supporting XP. (I think XP came before windows 10) It got slower and slower and finally microsoft stopped doing updates. When I updated to windows 10 I did not have enough RAM. Had to add more.
When it comes to technology you see a bunch of kids running, I am the little fat one stopping to pull up my pants and the rest are a mile ahead.

I upgraded quite a while ago and have had no issues. I did buy a machine that was built to run Windows 11. Like Chahta said I have not seen much difference.

I think it’s about putting efforts into the future and not the past. Why have updates for 2 versions?

In fairness that article is 4 months old. I have seen none of those issues. However, I HATE UPGRADING WINDOWS.
