Giroux “has been able to find pockets of value in areas where other asset allocators aren’t venturing,” says Morningstar analyst Adam Millson.
“That’s coupled with his ability and willingness to move swiftly in such scenarios to capture the opportunity.”

I don't believe the article is paywalled. ProBoards appends "redirect.viglink.com/?key=***" to the beginning of URLs added via the Link icon. YBB posted the link directly (same URL) without using the Link icon. Are you able to access this article via YBB's link?

Yes...I followed Giroux, and posted same, regarding my investing during last four months in 5 year Treasuries:
From the article: "Giroux’s contrarian streak also applies to the bond portion of the portfolio. As the U.S. bond market was in the midst of selling off in 2022, Giroux aggressively bought U.S. Treasuries, just the fourth time he has done so on the fund. Initially, Giroux moved the fund into five-year Treasuries. But as rates moved higher and the yield on the U.S. Treasury 10-year note broke above 4%, he picked up the longer-term bonds. “People said Treasury yields were going to the moon,” says Giroux. But since then, yields have fallen dramatically, taking bond prices higher."

Maybe everyone knows about it, but TRP launched an "active ETF", TCAF, managed by the same manager as PRWCX. It's 100% equity, and not exactly the same as PRWCX's equity sleeve. www.troweprice.com/personal-investing/tools/fund-research/etf/TCAFwww.etftrends.com/active-etf-channel/t-rowe-prices-new-etf-tcaf-worthy-of-appreciation/"The newly launched T. Rowe Price Capital Appreciation Equity ETF (TCAF) is not a clone strategy of PRCWX. Giroux’s mutual fund uses a blend of equities and fixed income securities, but TCAF will only own equities and nearly double the number found in PRWCX.
According to the ETF’s prospectus, TCAF will own approximately 100 stocks. These are the ones Giroux and team believe have experienced and capable management; strong risk-adjusted return potential; leading or improving market position; and attractive relative valuation. The ETF will likely focus on high-quality companies trading at attractive valuations.
The ETF is taking a broader approach to security selection than the equity sleeve of the mutual fund. We expect TCAF to be more diversified, less volatile, and have a lower turnover approach. A more patient style is particularly important as TCAF will disclose its holdings daily."

Thanks. I am presuming that link takes one to holdings which are updated daily. No?

Thanks. I am presuming that link takes one to holdings which are updated daily. No? I just checked, and the link shows today's holdings; since this is a fully transparent ETF your assumption of daily disclosure of holdings is correct.

Curious, if anyone started a position in TCAF Etf. I guess many of you already have a position in prwcx so won't be interested in this etf.
It is US Large Blend based on holdings. What do you think about it now?

What do you think about it now? I'm interested in TCAF and keeping an eye on it. Although it's very new as Finviz chart data indicates a June start date. I did a little looking into opening an account with sufficient assets at T. Rowe Price to get access to PRWCX. But I noticed pretty heavy distributions, on the order of 8-10% of assets. Since the lion's share of my assets are not tax-advantaged, that leaves TCAF for me to consider. I wonder to myself, given TCAF is all equities, how much of Mr. Giroux's alpha at PRWCX has been from stock picking, and how much from asset allocation moves with bonds and cash? Time will tell, I guess.

I am wondering what makes TCAF special? Is it just another LC blend fund? VTI/SPY/SCHX are LC blend. Interesting as a blend it pays no div. VTI has beaten PRWCX for 10 years with a much cheaper ER.

It's just the ability to easily access the management talents of David Giroux, given his strong risk-adjusted returns over the years. It can be done through PRWCX, but with some jumping through hoops required. Edited to add:Important differences include the fact that Giroux has roughly matched or beaten the S&P over his tenure at PRWCX while holding a big slug of bonds. Yet TCAF is only equity.
