Aside from the obvious skill of the participants, the agility, quickness, and endurance involved is off the charts! Even more intense than the old serve-and-volley tennis of the '70s and '80s. These are absolutely superb athletes.

This semi-finals between Li & Anders was even more exciting:
Skip to the second match if you want to save time, the third match was a thrilling nail biter
---------------
and for some real speed like 338 km/hr shots
Mixed doubles final.

Many years ago I lived in the UK and a friend asked me to play badminton. I grew up in a US midwest world where badminton was a casual backyard thing where we usually didn't even keep score (kind of how I play pickleball now) so I was really surprised when freinds showd up with racquette cases and pulled on gloves....it didn't go well for me.
