YBB, thanks for the update. I still use Portfolio Manager and Instant X-ray. Haven't visited their discussion groups for awhile. Are they very active?

Interesting M* took 6 months to chime in on the OP.

I have to laugh. I visit M* very rarely these days; in fact, I just visited (and posted on a thread about Fidelity Freedom funds, since I happened to have looked at them recently) but that was the first time in 6 months or more. Some of the comments on the thread about PM bring back memories: ○ "So far, it doesn't work. Linked a brokerage account. Interestingly enough, the account positions came over but with no TICKER symbols for any Stock/Fund/ETF . So Xray thinks there are no holdings. So it is useless."
○ "Linked brokerage worked for me in beta for a short while, then it stopped updating, then nothing."
○ "This company's tagline is "Transparency is our policy"...After I laughed, I wonder if any private investor customer feels there is a shred of truth in that line?"
○ "THIS WHOLE "UPGRADE" IS HORRIBLE! I will begin to look for a new stock monitoring manager program . Anyone using a new site that they like?"
○ "I agree, the new portfolio manager is a disaster."
○ "Why are they doing this to us? (and charging more to boot). After so many years with Morningstar, I am looking for alternatives. Any good ideas out there?"
There may be hundreds more comments like this, I didn't bother to keep scrolling. The posters' names are all new to me. I guess we did a poor job of sharing our knowledge with the next generation. An old boss of mine, Hyman G. Rickover ( retiredat48 probably remembers him) once said "You must learn from other people's mistakes; you won't live long enough to make them all yourself." Ah, well. Feel sorry for all those people struggling with Morningstar.

There are several complaint threads at M*. M* Bill Baranyak has posted infrequently on them, or posters have received responses from M* support.
So, mid-2022, M* official line was that M* Portfolio will stay through 2022 yearend, then through early-2023, and now through 2023 & possibly beyond.
New M* Investor was originally designed for brokerage connections only, and my guess is that M* IT is finding it difficult to add on significant manual updating (nonbrokerage mode).
New M* promise seems that the old M* Portfolio will go away only when the new Investor becomes at least as good (in manual portfolio functions).
BTW, I have also started using Stock Rover (SR). Its portfolio features are about 80% of the old M* Portfolio. Its Premium level subscription is required for portfolio functions. M* Portfolio is now a backup for me as long as it is around.

It is absolutely sad that Morningstar as a company doesn't care about individual investors. Most likely we represent the small dollars but I would think they get revenue by the click thru advertisers. Those folks that access thru brokers are probably not much interested in the articles every day. Can anyone imagine the amount of info stored away in all the portfolios? When the time comes I will just use the Schwab platform for any info.
