RIP Owens... Guess I'm glad I have owned VGHAX since fund inception decades ago. Most would consider this as having been a good investment, except for FD1000, who will have a better scenario, I'm sure. BTW Owens is in the long line of Vanguard ACTIVE managers who have beaten the index counterparts. Low cost being the chief contributor compared to other active fund managers. R48 Edit to add. BTW Owens (a submariner) did this while handicapped with a Harvard Degree. In the Naval Nuclear Powered Submarine Program where I worked a lifetime, we could hire anyone except Harvard Grads...by order of an old codger named Hyman Rickover! I see where Owens' degree came AFTER the sub service. Of course he mitigated the harvard flaw by being a golfer...and a submarine officer. And those Navy Nucs like to be bold...such as the person who started this investing forum. R48
