Several questions: 1) Can you get live sport such several ESPN, Worldcup, NBA, NFL, grand slam tennis? 2) How many apps do you use for legacy TV(ATT). I use only YoutubeTV, and all my recordings are only on that. 3) What does it mean? "I am done with recording since I can get anything via streaming whenever I want it." how many apps for that? Can you get a recording from a month ago pretty easy? For me, everything is on one app, YoutubeTV. It saves 9 months of recordings. Spectrum also have an app such as Youtubetv, offering several channels lists and it's cheaper because you can use your Roku to get it, not their boxes. I'm waiting for the day I can select only the channels I like and pay $2 per each. Let all the losers die. Spectrum had this offer but not on the net. They told me it costs $20 less than than their cheapest channels option and I can select 20 channels. 1. I don't watch sports, so I will have to go with Waffle said. 2. Legacy apps?... Just Prime video. 3. I now have both Fire and Roku. I find that Roku is very clean for apps. I now have 4 primary apps. Actually just added a 5th: Netflix (with ads) for $7. All easy to use. You asked, "Can you get a recording from a month ago pretty easy?" Everything is recorded. The concept of Streaming services is that it is 99% recorded content. Even from years and years ago. (Update: I just scrolled through 43 live news channels. Still less than 1% live.) I can watch current shows (next day) or I can google search for things like "greatest Thanksgiving TV episodes of all time". And watch those on the channel that offers it, even if it is 20 years old. If anyone is remotely interested in understanding the magnitude of content and ease of use on streaming, I would suggest getting a trial of Discovery+. It is a niche offering. Just explore everything on it and how it is presented. You don't have to watch anything. Just cancel the trial before it auto-renews. Get the $6.99 ad-free version.

I usually do not watch all the games of any series/tournament, only semi finals and finals. So I just signup for a month on internet for ESPN+ or whatever channel is streaming it and then watch it on my TV using their app. I'm similar but almost every month there is something. 4 tennis grand slams = 4 months NBA=April- May NFL=Jan-Feb The above is already 8 months. When my son comes to visit, anything college is a must 24/7. I worry about the big bucks, I don't sweat the little ones. That reminds me of a joke. 2 guys meet, the first says: I help my wife, we are doing it equally. The second guy says: I do a lot more than my wife, I worry about wars, inflation, hunger = the big stuff, my wife takes care of all the little stuff...cleaning, washing, shopping, making meals.

I should never have repeated your joke to my wife just now. Didn't go over very well. Then she proceeded to tell me all the things on my to-do list today. :-)

I take it the wife is not around and reading this?!

FD1000, I just saw that #39.99 deal on TV, but couldn't read the small print at the bottom.
Also I believe you & wife had problem with volume due to hearing lose. I came across an article in WSJ pg 12 today which may or may not help you out with that problem. I didn't read it as I was short on time.

I never mentioned volume. We don't have a problem with it.

It is so nice to get a monthly bill from spectrum at 500 Mbps for just $39.99. No tax, No FCC, no BS.

Note that the wireless download speed that you see in effect on your platform (as measured by the SpeedTest app or website) is diminished (sometimes significantly) by the platform's distance from your WiFi interface/router/gateway (whatever your provider calls it) device plus the materials the WiFi signal passes thru plus whether the WiFi signal band being used is the 2.4GHz or 5Ghz one. Also, this speed could be lessened by a software/firmware problem in your platform or gateway-device, which is simply fixed by a reboot.
For me, if I wire a platform directly into my Xfinity XB7 Gateway (handling internet, TV, and voice-phone service), I see the 1+ Gbps speed that I am paying for. But, when my platform (desktop computer, XPS 15 laptop, 2022 iPad, or Pixel 6a phone) instead is 60-80 feet away with a WiFi connection and with walls, shelves, etc between it and the Gateway, I see about half this speed. At the far end of the house, I see about a quarter of this speed. And between these platforms at the same location I may see a non-trivial difference in their download speed due to the differences in their internal hardware and software.
takeaway ... don't be too quick to blame the provider if you don't see the download speed that you are paying for.

My network is with Deco X20 3 pack at $160( link) and using my cheap laptop. one yard from the modem: Wired=560+...wireless=300+ 25 yards from the modem: Wired=460+...wireless=130+ 50+ yards from the modem, all the way in basement: Wired=220+...wireless=110. Here is a surprising fact, the Amazon wireless fire stick speed is at 140-160 everywhere. In the basement it's 10 yards from the Deco while my laptop was at one foot. This is why there is no hesitation=buffering when I watch TV.
