Just wanted to wish Richardsok and R48 good luck in dealing with the storm. I was on the "good" side of Ian's eyewall and things are still far from normal. Please take any warnings seriously.

Hi @django ...thanks. I'm now sitting looking out my back floor-to-ceiling window, as the largest phase of the tropical storm/hurricane comes through. I am "ground zero" for the eye (Port Saint Lucie)! But my home has survived with minimal damage two other hurricanes of stronger strength. I suspect this will be less, and tolerable. The storm surges are at high tide and full moon, and will likely have a lot of beach erosion at the Shorelines. The counties spend millions each year replenishing beaches with new sand...not too smart. Need to build up the beaches with stone barriers like many in the private communities have done. Get those stone trucks rolling in here, from North Carolina!! R48

Yeah, good luck down there. I am looking out on the Atlantic from Cocoa Beach. So far everything okay. But do have to say have seen the damage Ian did to Daytona Beach Shores so keeping my fingers crossed!

That was thoughtful, django. Thank you. Not anticipating anything dramatic. We are well storm-shuttered in, well stocked, the cars moved away from trees and the ipad & cells charged max. I even cut out two screen panels from the pool cage, though am sure it's not necessary. I assure you I'm more concerned about Tropical Storm Nasdaq than I am Hurricane Nicole.

I didn't know Auksurf and Mozart522 were fellow Floridians. Best of luck to you guys too with Nicole. Anyone else I may have missed, please check in and share your experience.

6:30 AM on east coast and.... nothing. Rain. Some hair-mussing gusts. If I had hair. Big whoop.

Sarasota. Wind and rain, but not bad.

I'm here in Indian Rocks Beach on the west coast. The WeatherBug map shows the eye to be around Winter Haven now. Lots of wind and rain but nothing strong enough to cause damage. Still have all utilities. Skyway bridge closed but all others open.

6:30 AM on east coast and.... nothing. Rain. Some hair-mussing gusts. If I had hair. Big whoop. +1...R and I faced straight into the tropical storm hurricane, and it was very moderate wind, goodly amount of rain due to the time period, and traditional selected low lying areas got some flooding. But outdoors in my community, can hardly tell a storm went through. And such flooding did not have a "surge" to it. Just rising water. Hurricane Ian winds ,even with the east coast being far away, seemed higher than with Nicole, and moved out the weak underlying brush/fronds etc a month ago. Our power lines are underground so we seldom have any lengthy outage...none this time. R48

We got some severe flooding in NE Florida, mostly off the river. More than the last two major hurricanes that came near us. Yesterday and today a lot of rain, starting when this very wide storm was still in the Atlantic. Gloomy all day.

Lost power in Cocoa Beach from 7:30AM until 2:30AM. Didn't seem like we got much rain but the winds were pretty strong.
