Watched the entire game and it was a good one. Could have gone either way.

The last 30 seconds of the game was amazing. Alabama driving down to the Tennessee 32 and missing the game winning field goal. Then Tennessee with 15 seconds remaining in regulation hitting two pass plays to the Alabama 23; then making the winning field goal with 2 seconds on the clock. This game was epic and will be remembered for many years.

Just checking. Anybody got a set of goal posts? Tennessee needs it by next Saturday for a home game.

Still playing too much flag-football in Tennessee...check that...in the West Coast... "softie style." Horrible officiating in the Southern Cal-Utah game. Touch a Q-backs hang-nail and officials call a foul. Cost USC the game. Don't fret USC, you will be in the big boys league soon--The Big Ten. R48

Yep. Last I heard the gate for a home game is $5M-$6M. There is a fund set up to buy new goal posts. UT is asking season ticket holders for a $51.49 contribution (game score). About 21% of the goal has already been collected.

No problem, UT will collect the money needed. It is a small change for a big victory.

A post at Twitter ( LINK) "The University of Tennessee—a school with a $1.34 billion endowment and $150 million in annual athletic revenue—setting up a GoFundMe for fans to buy them new goalposts is one of the funniest things I've ever seen (Graphic on $33.45K raised, 78% remaining)"

Probably will need to be removed. Wish those in the crowd that took down the goal posts had not done so. Winning ball games just needs to be the norm. Even Alabama.

This night will be remembered by those students for a lifetime!! Even this Penn State grad was rooting for them. BTW in college, I remember PSU beating #1 Ohio State, and not only took down goal posts, but turned over buses on College Avenue. I still remember it well, especially when I had a footbal player friend (in Engineering) who got free leftover donuts at midnight at a downtown Donutshop, whenever he wanted them. (Small kickbacks). I was fortunate that I recruited for Penn State (upstate NY rep), and would accompany some high school students/parents on interviews with coaches and Paterno, followed with a team bus ride to the stadium on game-days. Was surprised in those days on the emphasis on academics. R48

"Even this Penn State grad was rooting for them."
I read a story two days in USA Today that Penn State cannot play big boys in the Big Ten. Why? Does the ban still continue?

"Even this Penn State grad was rooting for them." I read a story two days in USA Today that Penn State cannot play big boys in the Big Ten. Why? Does the ban still continue? ECE Prof ,...Not sure what you are referring to. There was NEVER A BAN on PSU Football. They have never missed a season. And yes, IMO PSU needs to be able to recruit BIG and fast linemen...a current shortfall. They get many, many, small and fast skill type players. And PSU program has been slower to use the transfer portals to fill weak positions. BTW most are unaware of this, but Penn State is historically Pennsylvania's Team...meaning most recruits are from Penna and surrounding touching States. They are now converting to more nationwide recruiting to get into the top 6 echelon. But a host of college rules changes have HELPED the top 5, stay on top...like NIL, same-day transfers, recruits paid by alumni/outside support, underclass NFL drafting, etc. PSU needs to get on-board. Tell me which QB recruit I need to buy five jerseys from, and I will buy!!! Instant millionaires. What a country! Edit to add: Alabama "stole" one or two top Tennessee players, and one top PSU player (lineman), via the transfer portal. The reason such players leave, going to Alabama, is that all starters on Alabama teams are drafted by the NFL, and sign a contract for a million$ minimum. This is very tempting to a potential transfer who is told they will start at Alabama. R48
