I opened a mew thread because the subject is fraud. It seems that he was a crook. Get over it.
"The incident occurred less than two weeks after the executive, 52, was named in a federal class-action lawsuit on allegations of federal securities fraud, insider trading, and breach of fiduciary duty, according to court documents."

Have you checked the history of Pengcheng Si, the lawsuit filer? Similar cases are filed when a company stock tanks for whatever reason(s). Late BBBY CFO Arnal joined BBBY in 2020 only. He had been involved with several turnarounds in the past (Avon, P&G, etc), but this one didn't seem to be going the right way. The CEO who just got fired may be the one who brought in Arnal on board. BBBY had announced a complete shift in plans last week - CEO firing, massive layoffs and store closings, new equity issuance, etc. BBBY noted the passing of Arnal and that it would evaluate charges in the lawsuit that appear to be "without merit". I have some friends who have worked for BBBY, so I just try to follow it, but don't own it. I will be watching what develops from police, BBBY itself, court, SEC, etc. fortune.com/2022/09/04/bed-bath-beyond-cfo-arnal-lawsuit-pump-and-dump-scheme/

"Let him die with honor who cannot live with honor." -from MADAME BUTTERFLY, (engraved on her father's knife). I imagine his death might safeguard his estate for his heirs. Difficult to win a court case, civil or criminal, if the defendant is no longer around to defend himself. Many times in history people have chosen death, long prison sentences or suffering to protect their families or to keep secrets.. Irwin Rommel comes to mind. Jack Ruby also. Japanese chose mass seppuku rather than surrender. Sympathy doesn't enter into it. Still, I cannot but admire such manly determination so swiftly committed, throwing himself to a terrifying drop. In this case, the SOB's probably guilty as hell, yet with guts and style to spare.

How can his own wife allow this? This is enough. The guy committed suicide because of his shame, as the Japanese do. I rest my case. You can do all the research in the world. It does not matter.
