FYI, per Bill Baranyk (M* Employee on M* Discussions):
Hello Investor subscriber, We're continuing to receive feedback from subscribers on the Investor experience, with an emphasis on the status of missing or incomplete features. We take feedback seriously and want to show how we’re using it to improve Investor. So, we’d like to lay out what you can expect over the next six to nine months. The status of legacy Portfolio Manager Legacy Portfolio Manager will not be retired until the features in Investor's Portfolio help you accomplish the same tasks as legacy: monitoring your portfolio with relevant data in customizable views, understanding investment performance, and reviewing Portfolio X-Ray analysis on your holdings. Our goal is to add features to Portfolio that support those tasks by the end of 2022. As we continue to build and release, you’ll see similar features to those in legacy, but you’ll also see new additions that improve how you research, analyze, and monitor investments. But rest assured: Legacy will not be retired until all those features are successfully up and running in Investor. We’ll communicate our progress along the way, and if we aren’t on track to hit our goal, legacy will remain until we are.

I have it set up to not renew my premium subscription because I dislike the new system a lot. They added a bunch of stuff I don't care about and removed things I use. If they are keeping the legacy software open and incorporating the same features in the new software then I will think about renewing it.

We’ll communicate our progress along the way, and if we aren’t on track to hit our goal, legacy will remain until we are. I haven't previously paid for any M* subscriptions nor do I intend to subscribe to Investor. Historically, M* apparently decided not to resolve known issues reported by customers. This is a very positive development in my opinion.

IF M* keeps the promise of maintaining the old M* Portfolio until the new M* Investor has similar or better capabilities, that may be a LONG time. I doubt that will happen. Reason is that the initial M* Investor didn't even have manual portfolio entry capability, but that was slapped on late during the beta testing. Then after lots of complaints post-release, M* is promising to add the missing capabilities - that would need lot of band-aid to fix a faulty product. As of now, it doesn't do ANY portfolio level analytics (performance, MPT, etc).
So, I am prepared for the worst. On one cold Chicago morning, the old M* Portfolio will just disappear without any advance notice, and along with it, all of the saved portfolios. So, my plan is to rely on Stock Rover (SR) and Portfolio Visualizer (PV) and hang on to M* Portfolio only as a backup.

I agree with Yogi, on this one. I posted something on this subject, paraphrasing Yogi's post today, in another thread here in the Armschairinvesting forum. M* is not going to be free, because, M* has to pay its highly paid workers. I am getting X-Ray analysis in Quicken Premier. I also have access to other stuff in a brokerage account. Who knows? That may stop at the end of this year. If I have to pay, I will consider the choice, when it stops.
You have to pay somewhere to get access for M* stuff.

M* was important to me when I finally started accumulating enough to invest decades ago and the only investment vehicles available to myself were actively managed mutual funds. The old conversation boards, especially the Diehards, had more impact on me as an investor than anything from M*, and today, there isn't anything M* offers that I think will make me a better investor. Portfolio Manager is a nice convenience.
If anything, M* changes may inspired me to consolidate and simplify even more. Maybe I'll even stop checking my portfolio so often and do something productive instead!

Stock Rover Premium - that is the min need for serious portfolio assessments.
