Bonds: I wish I could find another outfit that operates like Israel Bonds Direct. Selling Israeli bonds in Yankee dollars with decent interest rates. Alas, I've not found anything of the sort. I don't want to buy on the secondary market, or go through a broker.

I don't want to buy on the secondary market, or go through a broker. Israel has a credit rating of A+/AA-. So, would expect a higher interest rate than what US Treasury is offering. I would be interested in looking at the Israeli Govt Dollar bonds if they have 2 year or less maturities. How do you go about buying these?

The shortest maturity currently available for Israel bonds is 2 years. It appears that Israel bonds with 1 year maturities are sometimes offered. Note: I haven't personally invested in these bonds. Link

These rates look good — beats RPHIX. I don’t mind locking up some money there for 2-5-10 years. I cannot envision any default risk.
Looks like the most important, unique factor here is that there is no secondary market. Bonds cannot be sold and must be held to maturity.
Do they deposit the dividends directly into your bank account?
Are rates going up every issuance / two weeks?

alvinthechipmunk anitya roi2020Moved this series of posts from the "2Y Treasury" thread to a new thread. It's a good topic (I just opened an account -- thanks Al for mentioning this!) and will get completely lost in that thread.
