Absolutely no clue about oil … but with all that’s going on in the world, do you think it’s going to go down?
Was too busy on Friday buying a new laptop and two new monitors (big and cheap, now!) to do anything. This coming week I’ll look to trim a few winners and add some Equinor.

Hi guys. For me, I am carrying a weighting of about 8% in energy based upon a recent sector analysis. Thus, at the present time I plan to do nothing. For the past couple of weeks XLE has been the lead dog in Old_Skeet's Win, Place and Show Leadership Investment Strategy. Again, for me, I plan to carry on at present weighting.

I started to sell EQNR from my trading account today; meant to do it yesterday but as usual, lack of sell discipline at play. I will hold the ones in the taxable account.

I have limited room in my trading account and I always watch out for mission creep. Take profits when easy money is made to redeploy in other opportunities

anitya Have you checked Equinor’s chart for the last month? I hadn’t until richardsok mentioned it elsewhere. It might deserve a buy now - especially as I also hadn’t noticed that it’s yielding a decent 4.52%. I’m going to keep my eye on it today. I have a big profit on Novo-Nordisk and I’m thinking of taking a shaving off that (chart may have peaked for the moment?) and adding to Equinor. Smart or stupid? Shame on me for not buying more. Equinor has been on a tear. At least I’ve got some. Will watch next week’s action.

chang , It moved 1 percent since your enquiry 7 trading days ago. I would not call that on a tear. This week commotion is about Iran and proxies potentially retaliating for Iranian consulate bombing in Damascus.

EQNR.
April 3 closing price $27.88; current price $28.25. 0.37/27.88 = 1.33%. The post you quoted today is from after market close on April 3. Since April 3, it closed only one day below $27.88 about 5 cents below. So, you have not had any meaningful lost opportunity. EQNR has not run away from you since April 3.
If you are looking at EQNR.OL to reach your conclusions, I do not follow that and I never discussed it in this thread. I do not trade on foreign exchanges and am not familiar with market efficiencies for specific securities outside the US.

www.wsj.com/business/autos/ev-battery-developments-five-years-d306be44?mod=hp_lead_pos9Hope you can read the new WSJ article above. It's about new battery technology on the cusp of success that will greatly (A) extend the life of an EV and (B) greatly reduce re-charge time (i.e. add 100m range in five minutes). Spot Lithium prices (and miners' stock prices) are WAY down, (lithium down 43% for the year, but appears to have established firm support at current levels) and with projections of future demand growing ahead (again!), I'm interested in non-China producers. I did some poking around this morning and I'm starting to be keen on SGML (TipR: 10), ALB (TR: 8) and PILBF (TR: 7). SGML has brand new capacity just coming on, PILBF has remained profitable all the way through the lithium price slump and, at below $3.00/sh, COULD be a potential ten-bagger. Its largest mining facility is projected to be active until 2060. . Merrill Lyn just came out with a new "Buy" on ALB. Concluding thought: if/when the new batt technology comes on line, EVs with the OLD tech batts (new & used) could crash to near-junk prices. FWIW.

richardsok, Look forward to your reporting of whatever you end up buying. I bought ALB at $190 and sold I think at $225 and as usual I regretted selling too soon when it rocketed up afterwards. Then it went down to approx $120 which scared the heck out of me and was grateful for my good fortune. I do not think I have the stomach for such a roller coaster. There are a few YouTube videos about battery advancements. The following might constitute battery gossip but I shall wait for our resident physicist to comment - www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OYJjnw1TDI

This week commotion is about Iran and proxies potentially retaliating for Iranian consulate bombing in Damascus. oil markets are declaring this commotion is over and prices are lower. EQNR down 1.59%. I had an overnight sell order slightly above Friday close price to zero out EQNR from my trading account and there were no takers. Hate having to sell on a down day. Edit: sold.
