rac98g (lifted from BSW) "I am initiating a position in TCELX. This year, I am looking to increase my exposure to Chinese equities. Another fund I am considering adding to is MCDFX." Please keep us advised of your thinking and experience with these. I looked hard at TCELX but it's not available at Fidelity.

I beleive Admin is Chang, right?
I invested in MCSMX last year when China was not performing well due to Trade war. I chose this smallcap fund as I thought they may best whenever China starts performing well. It turned out to be a good and lucky move with fund returnign over 60% since then.
Investing in such funds was anathema for me a few years ago, but I am increasingly becoming bold I guess. :-)

Yes, that is correct.
BTW, I did not mention this. My investment in MCSMX would have returned over 60%, but that is an insignificant portion of my portfolio, so not much beneficial to the overall portfolio return. Also, the fund lost some good fund managers in the recent past. One of them joined Rondure funds group. For now, I am staying put. Intrestingly Wasatch also started a greater China based fund recently.

Tiffany Hsiao went to Artisan last month. That’s a big loss for Matthews.

Yes she too left. I was referring to Lydia So. Both left this year and joined Artisan and Rondure respectively.

I've noticed there seems to be above-average turnover across some of the bigger asian-related firms and bright but younger managers. Seafarer lost Inbok Song back to Matthews, shortly after she had been promoted to co-manager at their flagship growth and income fund.
