(No problem watching the video.)
Giroux is buying Treasuries this year and thinks rates will be lower in 2-3 years. Nevertheless, is focused on companies with pricing power while avoiding the energy sector. Thinks the recession risk is overstated.

M* MIC-Chicago 2022 is Mon-Wed and expect many similar interviews in the next few days. These interviews are useful even when new insights are not offered. They tell us what fund managers are doing now. Risk is they are talking their book but that is OK. Info published in fund and M* reports are weeks/months old. www.morningstar.com/events/mic

Agree with everything he said - even that energy from a long term perspective is not a good investment. That is talking his book a bit though and I think it could mighty good in the short term. He was able to balance out portfolio loss from not holding energy by not being in an AGG like bond index. Made that call well. Agree that there is a good chance rates won't be soaring. So why hold treasuries? Evidently not for income.
Agree 100% there is no recession in sight given circumstances today. Dividend investing is all about picking companies with a wide moat (i.e. pricing power).
Gave a good summary of why to steer clear of FaceBook - has been overspending and now is cutting back on investment. Thumbs up on MSFT, GOOG. Amazon's lack of disclosure gives him a bit of pause, - should be able to earn profit margins comparable to Walmart - that would be awesome!!!! I still think MSFT is a little too expensive, but hope to buy it.
Norbert gave a good summary.
