Just over a month ago, I purchased some NEM on the recommendation of uncleharley for $59 a share. Today it was over $75 a share, so I sold a third of it.
Thanks for the recommendation, uncleharley!

uncleharley, I sold off the rest of my NEM. I originally purchased 300 shares and sold them off in 100 share tranches, for prices ranging from $75-80. I had put in a limit order so if the stock hit a new 52 week high, I'd sell the last 100 shares. I'm generally a buy and hold investor, but this was a good opportunity to make some money to fill out my purchase of MMM. Now I just have to wait for MMM to go down to the price I'm looking for.

For good dividends, I still have these two in my sights: ATGFF AltaGas. 3.79% yield
and
Banco Santander-Chile BSAC. 4.63% yield.

kathiel , For over 20 years I have focused on qualified preferreds. My rule is when inflation heats up, get out (I took my money and ran recently before the big drops). Now I wait to reenter. I made a spreadsheet that is following 73 BBB- (and better)qualified preferreds. Now 3 - 4 times a day I check the spreadsheet for the current price and yield and watch the volume (automatically updates, so no work). The prices have dropped and, of course, that means the yield is up. Problem is: my goal to get back in. I said I would start buying when the yield reached 6% on a preferred. Some are there now and most others are close. But not sure I should buy now. Still waiting. Better to buy on the way up.
