Fidelity Global Commodity Stock Fund - I am going to enter a position in this mutual fund - role in portfolio - commodity/international diversifier. Will be 2% of portfolio.
The fund is about 1/3 each in ag, metals, and energy. Still has a home team bias - about 50%, but significant exposure to Europe (18%), Canada (17%), and little to emerging markets (8%)
I am thinking of putting it in my ROTH. Does anyone know why this fund or putting it in a ROTH would be detrimental to my health?
I don't mind the fee.
Thanks!

Hi @slooow, FFGCX ... Looks to be a good performer in the current investing environment with decent retruns going all the way out over the past 10 years beating my two picks BCSAX and PCRAX. Way to go gal. Old_Skeet

I'm going to keep my eye on it. Pricey right now. I did go ahead and buy Coterra today, but have a small spot still to fill for commodities if there's a hiccup sometime soon! Looked at Lyn Alden's free portfolio allocation - uses an etf GUNR as a base and fills out around it.

Wonder if this would be a good replacement for FICDX in my TIRA. I have increased US and foreign LV elsewhere, making FICDX somewhat less meaningful as a separate holding. It’s been a fine holding for the last 1-2 years, even though my thesis about a weakening USD never played out. (I thought the CAD/USD exchange rate would climb.)
FICDX also has Canadian energy and PM holdings, so the commodities fund seems like it would be a broader (in territorial scope), higher powered version of FICDX in some ways.

It looks really expensive to me. Am I missing something? I plan to take a hard look at it in another part of the economic cycle. I decided to pick and choose companies at this late date.
