The first was about false reporting of Covid in children. An example would be someone who goes to the emergency room with a broken arm and no Covid symptoms but tests positive. He or she is reported as a Covid patient. Why would they do that? Money. Fact Check (published April 2020) says there is no evidence of over reporting. Well, according to the Govenor of NY, there is now.

Mustang , I saw the same articles and saw Fauci on TV. I don’t think anyone in a nation of 330 million+ and a world of 7 billion anyone expects accurate numbers. If anything they are too low not overblown. How many don’t get tested and just shake off “a cold”? There’s similar articles in Canadian and BBC news. If anyone wants another excuse not to get vaxed just add this one to the pile and continue to take your chances. The world drags on with or without anyone.

, As long as hospitals/facilities report COVID results *accurately* I am fine with that reporting. Not surprised that incremental $ benefits drive human behavior. I also agree with steelpony10 that under-reporting is an issue - may be less so in the USA but a heck of a lot in many countries without adequate testing facilities; wait a minute we in the USA do not have adequate testing facilities either coz someone fell asleep at the wheel.  |

It just drives hospitalizations numbers up. You have to test everyone coming in to protect everyone else already inside and are ethically bound to inform and offer treatment. I’m sure you’ve seen checking past records for cause of death. For accuracy or to drive up numbers? I’m not getting into politics. Personally I do what I do. It doesn’t matter to me. The unvaxed can do what they want. My one son and his whole family, wife and three small kids our grandkids, all got Covid going for natural immunity. If he or his wife ever opens the subject in a social situation I’ll destroy him and his wife and I’m not kidding, really. Lol. |

This is not false news reporting by FOX as this is exactly what happened to us earlier this week. I took my severely ill wife to the local overcrowded emergency room. We already knew what infection she had because we have been through it before. In short order, she was tested for COVID and was declared positive. We were very surprised because she did not have COVID symptoms and again, we knew what she had - C.Diff. After 10 hours, she was finally seen by a doctor who said he believed all her symptoms were COVID. She had to convince him to test her for C. Diff. 3 hours later and VERY APLOGETICALLY said "I'm sorry YOU DO HAVE C. DIFF".

I seem to find Threads very quickly that I have no desire to follow. Once things get out of hand I just blacklist that thread. If that Thread has posts I just do not open it any more. Once I have reviewed the Threads in that Board I am interested in I just mark the Board as read. This thread just entered the out of hand category for me and is now blacklisted. When I saw the title I knew it would not be long before it did so. Nothing personal meant toward any poster(s) here. |

It's inspiring to observe her concern about the rights of criminals, as too many people just sympathize with the victim. Most Justices limit their thinking to interpret the laws passed by Congress and other elected bodies. Not Sotomayor! She's proactive in this regard, having no hesitancy to legislate herself. Her Covid statements suggest that she would be as competent a MD as a Justice. We owe much to President Obama for having nominated this brilliant individual. |

Covid -- a MAN-MADE plague created in Wuhan laboratory ( with cooperation and funding expedited from Fauci) has miniscule mortality for children. Further, the "Wise Latina's" wrong-headed opinions are irrelevant to her sworn duty to uphold the constitution -- not to legislate health-care notions from the bench. The politicization of this plague -- by both parties -- is another body blow to our confidence in government. Every recent year 2.8 million Americans die from all causes -- which works out to about 7700 deaths per day. In 2020, lockdowns imposed unhealthful conditions on millions, and deaths from Alzheimers, deart disease, stroke and diabetes were all up sharply, which contributed greatly to the 3,3 million 2020 deaths. About 330,000 2020 Covid deaths; I would guess almost all were elderly or had other serious health problems. There are 70 million children in the US. Since the start of of the pandemic 50,000 have died from ALL causes. Each one a tragedy, surely. I was just trying to understand why the outrage over her use of the term “100,000 children” when the article said: “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 82,843 children have been hospitalized during that time period.” I see now that had she said “we have had over 100,000 children in serious condition” she might well have been praised or at least gone unnoticed. It's a real shame this health issue has become so politicized.
Many people have needlessly suffered or died because they believed false information/conspiracy theories.
We can do the following to protect ourselves and the community at large:
1) Get vaccinated.
2) Get a booster shot ASAP.
3) Wear a protective mask (N95, KN95) when indoors around strangers.
4) Avoid attending "large events" (professional sports, popular entertainers, etc).
