Said Friend has a Roth with a company that charged a front end load when he first established it many years ago. He wants to take it out of that investment company and asked if he should just move it to a regular account or roll it over to another Roth with a company of his choice, e.g. Fidelity. It seems to me rolling over would be the wiser move. He is 59 1/2 yo. Thoughts?

Rollover/Direct-transfer. May fill out forms at Fido & they will handle the rest.

Absolutely roll it to Fido, Schwab or VG, unless he won't manage it himself. To me Roths are like gold. The more the better!
