For at least a decade using Fidelity's Live Chat has been my preferred way to engage when I need some assistance (an exception or question) that cannot be done self-serve. Typically I find almost no wait time, no annoying phone-based IVR to navigate or security to punch in, and the overall quality of the agent seems superior to the general customer service pool.
Anyway I went to ask a tax related question for my SEP today and discovered I was #46 in queue. I haven't used it much lately but is this general decline a trend others have noticed as well? Perhaps staffing challenges?

FYI - Whenever i have needed telephone assistance from Fidelity in the past, I have found that phone calls made early Saturday morning has always gotten me an immediate answer to a knowledgeable rep.

Capital , apparently you and I have different definitions of a relaxing Saturday morning! I'm not yet retired. A Saturday morning call to Fidelity is extremely relaxing compared to my workday mornings In about six years I plan to move to a life of eternal Saturdays with a few Sundays thrown in for good measure. I have found fewer and fewer things I need to call Fidelity for as time has gone on. A few things I still need their help with. I always seem to get a knowledgable and not so rushed Fedelity Rep on Saturday mornings. The last time I did so the Rep could not complete my request on a weekend day. He said he would complete it Monday and call me to let me know when it was done. He called me Monday at about 9am cst to let me know it was done. That was back in January 2021.

Well, TRP has "slud" downhill, as Dizzy Dean would say. "He shoulda slud into third base, but he didn't, and he was out by a heifer's step."
The past two EPISODES trying to just get a question answered at TRP has been real torture. I'm moving to Fidelity, too. I received some valuable, thoughtful input about which broker to go to over at MFO. Fidelity sits atop the heap, in the opinion of a great many. I've never used a broker before. It will be fun to explore, though my goal is to remain underweight equities and reduce volatility.

You can do everything at TD and more and much better customer support. I have the same sized accounts at both and I have been moving assets over to TD, which will also give you a negotiable bonus for moving assets - I moved some assets without bonus just because I like it better. At TD, you can directly call and talk to many of the back office departments like assets transfers, trade settlements, etc. and Fidelity, you have to go through a rep for these.
