Looking through my emails this morning and came across something from Kiplinger Retirement. An ad from CRE Income Fund. It is titled "Income Investors Are Earning a Tax-Advantaged 12% Dividend Yield" www.creincomefund.com is the website. The fund is focused on Commercial Real Estate. I looked at the website and the so called promise of a 12% yield and thought....SCAM! So I looked through the website for a ticker symbol and did not see one. Is this a legitimate investment opportunity? Not that I'm going to invest but I'd just like to hear other posters opinions. Thank you.

Looks like an unlisted, nontradable REIT from the website info. The SEC and FINRA have warned about these. These are like roach-motels - easy to get in but hard to get out. You may only sell back to the sponsor, or another participant, at decent haircuts. I don't have time to look into its prospectus, but anyone interested should do that.
