With the market appearing to be peaking again [or not], many investors now have the immediate question facing them. "Do we "SELL" "currently" for collecting the CapGain [maybe a little early as the market, in general, continues to rise] or do we "HOLD" [and wait for MktPrc's to go higher?
Before anyone can approach this question, a investor must know what [in their portfolio] is rising and what is falling with his/her securities. Until this is really answered, the question does not apply....
[Homework]: Separate the real winners [with current CapGain that we don't want to lose] from the current losers [no CapGain yet involved]. If/when you have done this, we can then go to the "Part #2" proactive solution [that some of us currently are using for some protection of our assets this weekend]. The proactive solution does resolve any immediate decision to be made, but can not protect us from what the market will and can do on any give day....
If there is no interest, then we will forget about this post as we will be waisting time for what everyone already knows and does....
