youtu.be/Zz6RK361GxoThe above video is an excellent argument in favor of old seasoned retired investors like us buying and holding perhaps 5% of port in bitcoin. I'd like to know what other veteran investors think about it. If you asked me about my opinion regarding Bitcoin before I saw this video I would dismiss Bitcoin as a modern version of the Tulip Bulb mania. Anyway. What do you think?

In younger days I used to set aside "fun money" but now that I am approaching retirement I have no "fun money" thus no intention to buy bitcoin.
The way BC is flying it could attract some government "help." Be careful out there.

We have a thread going on bitcoin...why create a second one?
I replied to your same post on that thread, in the PDM Forum.
I will be posting re bitcoin there.

Still have no idea what I own if I somehow owned a bitcoin. Of course I never have and never plan to do so.

My brother has been investing in bitcoins for many years. Of course as a tandem instructor he also regularly jumps out airplanes. He has been trying to get me to invest in bitcoins. No thanks.

How has he done? Does he have a cost basis? Is he buying now? His exact response is , "I've made a lot of money. The taxes are painful. I just bought $3,500 last week."

I'd rather drink pool water after the kiddie swim than invest in $#itcoin. I think this will end badly.

The original use case for Bitcoin was for it to be currency with no government engagement. Currency is supposed to be stable, and bitcoin is anything but that.
This movie has a bad ending.

Yet another video that is nothing but a sales pitch. I didn't hear one thing that wasn't sales BS. Nothing of substance. The guy was reading a script, for god's sake. The same kind of stuff I've been referred to for years now. Too bad I'm not a sucker for a sales pitch - I'd have a mint by now. By pure luck. Listen carefully for the music to stop if you put your 5% in.

Bitcoin is one of the worst non-ESG asset but somehow has so far escaped the ESG patrol scrutiny.
