VTI, 29%, until tomorrow…… I assume you are taking CGs. But 29% VTI is a good holding IMHO. Thanks. I think WB is correct so VTI will always be our largest single holding. Maybe a FA will leave that one alone if I pass, lol. We take no cap gains from VTI and it will stay on reinvestment always except for major uncovered health issues.

I thought you were selling.😀

"My%" refers to the % of the Portfolio that I currently own. Because I also manage my Moms Portfolio and will someday inherit a portion of it, I have also included the net amount after inheritance as well: "%Net". Real Estate is not included in any of this. Maybe there is a clearer way to express this, but this is my best shot.

Here I just called it money I just didn’t want to invest.

SWVXX 35% Schwab money market Preferreds 12% Assorted individual positions ET 6% both common and preferred shares PDI 5% FSCO 3% (short term trading asset) As you can see, I have gone quite conservative but continue trading aggressively around the edges. I just sold big positions in HIX, FINS, AIQ, IBM and preferred CEFs on technical indicators. Could return to any of them, depending on momentum. I am particularly watching (but not yet buying) SVOL PHD PSF PGP MMT BCI JCP FLC GOAU HFRO PTA. I may increase PDI if operations clarify. Or, if I imagine I see aggressive moves are called for, I will resort to QLD or SMHB. Market looks tired at the moment. Possible next moves: dump FSCO and buy bear mkt hedge SQQQ. Add to BTI? Regrets du jour: relatively small positions in BABA, BXMT. Dumb & dumber. Hi Richard, I noticed you bought more Preferred today. Are all your preferreds perpetual or some limited term preferreds? Re my portfolio? More than 40% is in US treasury instruments. QQQ is the next largest at 15%.

Well, Insurance companies especially the large one's never go bankrupt because sick people are always there and if the company gets cheaper someone will buy them. Also I worked for this company and got incentive shares, options etc that I never sold so it got to a huge amount. I am cashing a little bit every year to reduce this large number of shares but share price keeps going up. My cost is somewhere between 30-50 dollars per share lot of cap gains.
