I thought I would ask you guys before calling M* help desk (never talked to them and I am not sure if they are any good)
In the MY View feature of the M* portfolio tool, I am not able to view the holdings in a particular order - they always seem to revert to the order of the column headings (column 1 is alphabetical order). I thought of adding My Notes as a new column and assign a numerical order number for each holding.
How do I add notes in the My Notes? (Data definition for My Notes says, "Click the image to view and edit your notes about each holding." However, I am not able to figure out the referred image.)
Better yet, is it possible to reorder holdings in M* portfolio similar to how it is possible in Yahoo Finance portfolios?
Thank you very much.

Columns are sortable, by name, returns, Notes, etc and seem sticky. So when I go back, it typically shows the sort from the last time.
M* Portfolio has Portfolios and Watch Lists.
My Notes column has to be added to some or all of My Views via Customize My View.
Watch Lists do not allow My Notes. My Notes column just shows "---" and is not clickable. [Why adding My Notes column to Watch Lists is even allowed beats me and initially it took me some time to figure out that it is an inoperable function]
Only Portfolios allow My Notes. My Notes column has a paper-and-pen icon and is clickable. I add Notes on fund/stock categories [e.g. Financial, Health, Tech, Bond-Core, Muni-Core-Plus, etc], so a sort on My Notes shows positions in a more meaningful groupings. I have a master-list of all holdings several different portfolios - it used to be a Watch List, but I converted it to Portfolio just so that I can add notes. When I add new positions manually to this master-list, I just use 1 share at $1 price and some arbitrary old date - just to feed the demon something. I am not using this master-list for G/L but only to see My Views data.
From Create menu, you can convert Watch List to Portfolios.
If you have inputted actual portfolios, with purchase info [prices and dates], then the added My Notes column should work properly.

Thank you very much, Yogi.
You understood what I was trying to do. This is the first time I was trying to use My Notes and my luck that I tried that feature with a watchlist.
I have all my watch lists in Yahoo but some of the metrics I want to use to compare holdings in a watchlist are available only for Yahoo premium members (only some $350 per year) and I did not want to sign up for another paid service. When I imported one of the Yahoo watchlist into M* portfolio tool, it got saved as a watchlist and I was trying to add notes to reorder. Your practice of grouping is much superior to my idea of assigning numerical order number.
I guess now I will have to update the watchlists in M* going forward. Unfortunately, I will have to continue to use Yahoo watchlist for CEFs because I do not believe M* recognizes tickers for CEF NAVs.
Do I take it that your watchlists are in M*, except CEFs are also duplicated in Yahoo?
As an aside, in terms of end of the day stale prices, do you see them more in Yahoo or M* portfolio?

For a week or so, I cannot log into Yahoo. There is something they are messing at Oath/VZ and ATT/T. Yahoo logins still go through ATT screens. I have searched the web and there is some issue there. So, I am forced to use my M* Portfolio master-list. Before, I was relying on Yahoo watch/master-list.
