Makes sense, China is distributing the wealth. Why would they care about the (international) investors?
Seems like investors are liking state control and ownership of private enterprises. Not sure why though? May be it reduces uncertainty and risk for future state action against these companies.
State controlled enterprises have never done well.
I continue to stay away from China for now - State control and communism, redistribution of private wealth, corruption, lack of transparency, cold war with US, international dislike and anger because of covid.
Positives are China is second biggest economy, very hard working, well educated people, focussed on technology and research, desire to win, large successful multinationals, manufacturing center for the world.
What is risk that Xi entering his final chapter will try something big to cement his place in history?
What would be right discount for all those risks?

If you want to add more "crazy" into China check out the "Lying Flat" movement that's allegedly driving the government crazy.

I don't know. Apparently the Chinese government scrubbs the internet of any evidence of this new Chinese Zoomer movement. During the Pandemic I started watching several different "white monkeys" on YouTube about China. Whenever I feel the craziness of being in the orbit of the American hegemon I remind myself that China is 3 times crazier.
