Hi guys, Old_Skeet owns TIBAX (TIBIX) for its capacity to generate income plus it provides some foreign exposure that some of my other hybrid funds don't provide. I have owned this fund even before my retirement about eight years ago. I take advantage of it's price swings and buy more of it when it goes on sale (so to speak). For me, it is a keeper. Some my find this link of interest ... some may not. www.thornburg.com/products-performance/mutual-funds/multi-asset-funds/fib/ Well, that settles it. If Old_Skeet also owns TIBAX/TIBIX, it's gotta be good! Case settled. R48

retiredat48 , we aren't there yet. We don't have enough assets to live off an income withdrawal strategy. We re-invest all dividends and capital gains. The only withdrawal we are taking from our portfolio right now is an RMD. It was a good year. Dividends and capital gain distributions exceeded the withdrawal. Maybe if I win the lottery I'll be able to change my withdrawal strategy. My wife invests in one ticket every week. P.S. I'm invested in that same ETF right now, patience. You don't have to have all your spending needs met by dividends. But you skew in that direction when retired. For instance, let's say you need to withdraw 4% annually. If you get 3% in dividends annually, that means you only need to withdraw 1% a year from principal. Now the task is much easier, and the ramifications for a mistake are much smaller. Many posters have/had portfolio yields of 3%. There are also various withdrawal schemes that mitigate bear markets. Such strategies have been discussed on forums. Like, are you aware of the term "vaccinating your portfolio?"...or a pension plan, "vaccinating their assets/payment needs?" R48

I also remembered - US interest rising could be negative for EM despite better valuations in EM.
So it may be better to tilt towards developed in Intl part of my portfolio for 2022. Also if markets at some point tells me that EM is rebounding I can always shift.
